120...Victorious.

Work-Outs

I am my best with work-outs during the weekend. I usually do 3-4 hours on Saturday and 2-3 hours on Sunday. This weekend was intense. It almost seemed like all of the trainers and instructors were on a high energy boost.

Saturday

I started with ROAR where I worked up a sweat within the first 15 minutes. I took a break during my weight watchers meeting where I was uncomfortably drenched in sweat. Lucky for me I packed extra work-out clothes for an outfit change.

Driving to boxing re-energizes me as I play my loud beats. I'm ready to BOX. An hour of drills, sparring, bag punching, punching techniques, abs and footwork.

I was beat but it was time to do the Yoga Flow class. They have more advanced poses than what I'm used to and I broke a sweat within the first 20 minutes. I did it!

Anthony "the coach" Freeman and Eden, my motivator,
in ROAR. She is so fit and always works herself hard.

Sunday

ROAR was even more intense. Anthony set up stations so close together that there was no down time. I usually use the time I walk from one end of the studio to the other to catch my breath. NOT TODAY.

BOXING was also no joke. A trial for a new instructor means that instructor brought a strict game plan to make sure we all worked hard. I FELT BEAT.

I wanted to go for a hike or a walk in the afternoon but after a small outing to the mall I was ready to head home and relax. Everything in my body ached and I just wanted to rest.

Monday

My day counter on the top of the screen reminded me to keep pushing for the first benchmark. I also thought active recovery would do the body good. I knew I had a pole class but my cousin Paola pushed me for a walking venture. I walked from my house and up the HILL. The HILL has a good incline and I thought it was going to be a lot harder. I figured I would take my breaks if I needed. I talked to myself and focused on the trees. I kept telling myself to take it to the next tree until I finally made it to the top without stopping! YES! This is a HUGE accomplishment and now I cannot wait to make this walk a part of my normal routine. The goal is to eventually run up the HILL.

Pole class was cancelled so I was super-duper glad Paola made me walk. YAY!

Tuesday

Today I will do some strength training and YOGA.

Beast Mode

Today's work-out combo of circuit training at accelerate with Anthony and Boxing at 220= BEAST MODE.

I was scheduled to start boxing last month but did not due to the circumstances.  The delays in scheduling gave me time to question my abilities and create doubt. Today was the hands down, no more playing, no matter what drop down date for starting boxing! !

I loved it as much as I thought I would and I was able to keep up. For the most part. The staff was a great and the groupon transitioned to a trial membership.  Not what I expected but I crunched the numbers and I got a deal!

The new environment will provide some new energy. It will also challenge me in other areas including my self esteem. Vixenology dance class was cancelled so yoga it is.

To boxing fun!

Double Tuesday - Training Schedule

Letting go

Instead of making up work-outs and double stacking like I mentioned before I'm adding two weeks of training to my 12 wk challenge. So it's now the 12wk challenge with 2 bonus weeks. This will allow me to plan for recovery this week and start of slow with yoga and callenetics. Today is double Tuesday so I'll repost once I've completed my yoga session.

Training Schedule for April

You can find information about all of my work-outs on my Exercise Page.

The mini-challenges for the month are ankle training, (since I did not complete it last month), ab training and the bum aka butt challenge below.

To working out!

Accountability - Double Tuesday

Kiki: I was being Lazy.
Trainer: You Lazy? You're not lazy.
Kiki: Well I was getting Lazy.
Trainer: You? No, never you. You are one of the ones that gives me her all when she's in here. I don't buy it. I don't hear it.
Kiki: <smile>

*************************************************

I've been getting comfortable and just as I was thinking, I'm lazy, I remembered the convo with my trainer a few months ago. He didn't want to hear it. He didn't buy it. I'm not training with him now because of the 12-week challenge I decided to do on my own but I can hear him. So today, unlike yesterday. I'm getting back on track and sharing my training calendar with you. I have also included a list of all the work-outs I mention with a brief description.

Today will also be Double Tuesday...because I will post after I've completed everything for the day. It will also count for my missed posting on Saturday.

*************************************************
March Training Calendar - Items scheduled are not always completed.
I will share a  completed work-outs calendar at the end of the month.

12-Week Body-for-Life Challenge (BFL)- This is the core of my exercise routine right now. I plan out what I am going to be working on weekly and follow through the routines as described in the instructions. On my cardio days I also follow the 8-week walking to running training schedule.

Boxing- "Many people see positive results from boxing; you may build stronger and more defined arms and legs, as well as increase your cardiovascular health." -220 Boxing

Callenetics - This is one of those DVD's I really like but rarely follow when scheduled. Then when I complete the routine I feel great and stretched.

Circuit Training - Is my favorite type of training. I was doing this regularly with 2 different trainers 3-4 times a week. I am currently only doing it once a week with a trainer on Wednesdays. Here is a good circuit training guide if you would like to start it on your own.

Hiking - I Hike Trails suitable for beginners. I use several different sites for research.

Mini-Challenges - I am hooked on doing more exercise daily and I always have some type of mini-challenge I'm completing. For example this month I'm doing the strengthening ankles and better sex exercises three times a week. I also complete the ab and squat challenge daily.

Pop Physique - I purchased a groupon for these classes. It is good isolated movement. I would only continue to do this if they have another good new student special and it works with my schedule. Otherwise I prefer Cardio Barre which I have done in the past and hope to do again in the future.

Pole Dancing - "This class offers over 30 beginner pole spins & tricks including sensual dance movement, dance flow, sensual floor work & basic strength training drills to strengthen your upper body, abs & core. " -Allure Dance Studio

Vixenology - "Learn a mix of Sultry & Hard Poppin' dance routines to turn you into a Video Vixen. You’ll jam to the hottest songs and learn routines that’ll vary each week w/ hips shakin, booty poppin, twerkin & more." - Allure Dance Studio

Yoga - I start or end my days with Yoga. I use the AM & PM Yoga or  AM Yoga DVD at home. I also go to the local Yoga Studio for a class once or twice a week. I have also started to do guide myself through Yoga poses when I just want to listen to the meditation station on Pandora.

To keeping it tight...
