WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

Training has been difficult for me to get to these days. My body does not feel the same but yesterday I showed up with my "I'm a lover and a fighter" t -shirt ready to play.  I was off my game but kept pushing.

Acknowledgement of the tee from other gym mates always gets me going too.  Like I need to prove I can fight hard! So I did.

Meals were on point!
Breakfast: Greek yogurt, 1 hard boiled egg, and one slice of wheat toast.
Snack:  banana and almonds.
Lunch: steak salad. Red cabbage,  broccoli, zucchini, green onions, radishes, cilantro, carrots and shredded carne asada.
Snack: 1/2 cup of mixed fruit salad. Strawberries, pineapple, and cantelope.
Dinner: Turkey soft tacos with pinto beans and green salad. Turkey meat was cooked with lots if veggies to up vegetable intake. I used whole wheat tortillas for the soft tacos.

I am also meditating two times a day to get my mind on the game. I have avoided sweets for two days. I don't miss it. I am at peace.

Have a great day!

Sunday Funday

Well it's a wrap...oh wait the day is just starting!!! I've got a  busy day at Disneyland. I've also got a day of bad choices behind me.

Today will be a meal/food challenge and I'm up for it.

1. I can resist foods that do not benefit my body.

2. Fun does not have to be associated with food.

3. Being healthy is a priority.

So I start my day by working out with the coach and releasing guilt over yesterday.

Here we go!!!

Training Schedule Tuesday

Here it is ... The June Workout Schedule.

I am concerned about a few things like my knee and the new classes I will be attending. I figure I will not know until I try so I'm going for it. I am also going to finally go get an MRI. There are a few large motivators so I figure the time is right.

1. I'm getting blood work done in a couple months.
2. The hubby and I are going to the Caribbean for our anniversary in August.
3. I'm doing a half-marathon in October - 18 weeks!
4. I'm doing the tough mudder in November - 21 weeks!
5. I love me!

So come on and circle some days to see what you will be doing to up your game! Check out the Exercises tab for some easy starting pointers and variations in activity. Go play!

I'm dizzy but it's not all bad.

My head goes round-round, baby, round-round, round...

...and after going to the doctor I have bad and good news.

Bad News

I need to relax and work from home until Monday. I have vertigo due to my current throat infection and I'm not allowed to drive. According to the doctor I can try to exercise with caution but nothing involving machines.

Good News

The other possible causation is my blood pressure medication. Due to my recent weight loss and the blood pressure results during my last few visits she thinks the medication could also be causing dizziness. What does this mean? I'm off my blood pressure medication as of today for a 30-day trial period.YES!!! Sure I have to keep a log to make sure my numbers are good but being able to eliminate medication is AWESOME. My blood-sugar medicine was also changed. I went from 2000mg to 500 mg a day. She thinks I may be able to eliminate the medication soon. I need to keep up my active lifestyle and clean eating habits.

12 Week Challenge

I'm working with what I've been dealt and I won't be quitting any time soon. My exercise routine may be limited but I'll keep on trying.

To getting healthy.

Quitting is NOT an option.

Lower Body Exercise Body for Life Weight Training Day.

Scribble, Scribble. You see it as I work!
I was discouraged when my local 24 hour fitness was packed at 5A. Not only was I one of three females in the room but the "lion" men weren't sharing the machines. Nor could I locate some of the ones I needed. So I walked out within 10 minutes of being there.

I sat in the car reflecting. I felt like I hit a wall. Then I came up with plan B. The local black diamond gym that is always empty, has plenty of weights and room for smiles. $20 a month and no contracts.  I went in checked if they had what I wanted and BAMN...back in the game.

To being flexible.

Life goes on...

Keep Going
I have motivational quotes, posters and sayings that keep me going. Then I have life happening...which can at times stop me. Example, I received news of my friends medical condition on Tuesday, 01/21 and what followed were old habits. Over eating, lack of activity and the numbing of emotions through food. By Friday, 1/24 I felt a higher level of stress and my body was hating my mind for indulging in old bad habits. I allowed myself to continue the trend through the weekend but by Sunday Night I declared NO MORE.

From left to right: Xoch, Kiki and Mari. Friends since infancy. 01/26/14

My Sunday was spent at a family baptism and a park reception. The activities performed through out the day opened my eyes. I was able to climb rocks, climb the jungle gym, slide and swing without fear of the pole shaking due to my weight. I did things I haven't been able to do comfortably in years!!! The feeling was awesome and provided the reality "CHECK" I needed to get back on track.

My Bestie since Birth. 01/26/14
The smile on my face and the feeling in my heart provide me with a healthier escape. Exercise relieves stress and it makes me feel better. Good food makes me feel better and makes my immune system stronger. Which means in turn, I can take better care of myself and my friend which will need me more than ever in days to come. To getting it together and working through it. For my bestie Andres.

Reality hit.

If I stopped bogging it is because I became overwhelmed with the amount of  posts and sharing. Not like, good or bad, right or wrong. It was more about I'm doing to much and I need to reset. Especially since my goal benchmark is coming up. I will share my stats next week when it's fat percentage time. Oh-oh.

There are a few visible differences in the pic and its been 6 weeks.

To positive outcomes.

Work Out Information (WOI)

Thursday: Yoga, 45-60 min.cardio and Pole Dancing

I did not wake up early enough to do Yoga. I skipped it. My regular AM Yoga routine is 20 minutes with a few poses I add. The DVD is 15 minutes.

I completed my cardio at the gym after work. I was really sluggish and I did not have my normal "power" during the work out. My highest RPM was 87 and it is usually about 112. No matter how hard I pushed it wasn't enough. The elliptical machine was on fat burn mode and I did better there.

I was not completely satisfied with my work out but I thought I should listen to my body and maybe I'm pushing too hard. Shortly thereafter I found out I I had started my lady days. Boys if you're there sorry but it happens! My point is my lady days are hard because of my condition. I usually have to work from home and am pretty home bound for a couple days during the cycle. So going forward if I write about being "ill", it is related to my condition.

I still had pole scheduled for 8:30P. I was going to be a no show for pole because I was scared about going to class while on my lady days. I went and figured if at any point I need to leave, well, I will do just that. The pole studio I go to is Allure Pole Dance & Fitness. They have two locations in the Los Angeles area. Any interested ladies could buy this current deal on groupon. I was concerned but kept on thinking, "participate". The class starts with a dance routine, then we stretch, do floor work, and strengthening excercises for about 15-10 minutes. This is followed by pole instruction and practice. I felt more ease as I got closer to the end of class. When I got home I realized  I got my first bruise! Which in pole means you're progressing! HAA

To a good day.
